Audrey Slorance

About

I was born in Dundee and spent my early years in Penicuik and West Linton. I enjoyed a ten year spell as a Police Officer in Lothian and Borders Police leaving in 1992 to study for a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Printed Textile Design at the Heriot Watt, Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels, graduating in 1996. As a self employed printed Textile Designer my artwork was sold throughout the U.K., Europe and the U.S.A.

But my first love is to paint and for the past number of years working from my studio at home in Aberfeldy, I have concentrated on developing my paintings.

My main inspiration is the Scottish countryside and architecture. I look for a strong contrast between light and shade and interpret the constantly changing colours of the seasons in bright hues. I predominantly work in acrylics and gouache.
